Fall in Crossville might be the best season. The air cools off, the leaves start turning along the Cumberland County backroads, and every weekend seems to bring a new reason to get outside. Here’s what’s on my fall bucket list this year, in case you’re new to town or just need a few ideas.
Go to the Pumpkin Patch: Kimbro Farms
Kimbro Farms is a Crossville fall staple, and it’s easy to see why. They’ve got a corn maze, pumpkins of every size, hayrides, a petting zoo, and food on site, so you can easily spend a whole afternoon there. It’s a great stop whether you’re bringing kids or just want a few good pumpkin photos for the porch.
Grab a Fall Beverage from a Local Coffee Shop
Crossville has a surprisingly strong local coffee scene, and pumpkin spice season is the perfect excuse to try a few. Some of my go-to spots:
Pick one near your side of town and make it a weekend ritual.
Hit Up the Fall Festivals
This is the season Crossville really shows out. Here’s what’s on the calendar:
- Apple Everything Festival – Sep 12-13, Cumberland County Fairgrounds
- Tennessee Garlic Fest – Sep 27, Cumberland County Fairgrounds
- Friday at the Crossroads: “Ottoberfest” – Oct 2, Crossville Main St
- Bigfoot Festival – Oct 17-18, Cumberland County Fairgrounds
- Boo on Main – Oct 31, Crossville Main St
Between the fairgrounds events and the Main Street gatherings, there’s something happening nearly every weekend from mid-September through Halloween.
Why This Matters if You’re Thinking About Moving Here
If you’re considering a move to Crossville or the Upper Cumberland, fall is a great time to visit. It gives you a real feel for the community, the small-town festival culture, and the local businesses that make this area what it is. If you’re relocating and want a guide who knows the area inside and out, I’d love to help. Reach out any time.
